About the role
The Release Train Engineer (RTE) serves as a servant leader, coach, and connector across an Agile Release Train (ART). This role partners with Product and Technology leaders to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions while ensuring alignment from strategy through execution.
Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate the Agile Release Train (ART) to ensure alignment from roadmap through delivery
- Coach senior leaders and stakeholders on Lean-Agile practices to improve decision-making and team alignment
- Optimize ART flow by reducing cross-team dependencies, improving predictability, and accelerating value delivery
- Serve as the “chief Scrum Master,” mentoring Scrum Masters and elevating team-level practices
- Build and develop a high-performing team of teams across the ART
- Partner with Agile coaches, Scrum Masters, and peer RTEs to advance Agile maturity across the organization
- Facilitate key program events (e.g., PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, Inspect & Adapt)
- Provide visibility through metrics and reporting to support data-driven decisions
- Identify, escalate, and help resolve risks, dependencies, and impediments
- Influence and align stakeholders across teams without direct authority
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in Agile delivery, technology, or product development environments
- Experience leading complex, cross-functional delivery (e.g., RTE, Scrum Master, or similar role)
- Strong working knowledge of Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, Scrum, Kanban) and their practical application
- Experience coaching teams and leaders to improve delivery, alignment, and decision-making
- Experience using metrics and data to guide delivery improvements and drive outcomes
- Experience facilitating program-level events and managing risks, dependencies, and impediments
- Strong ability to collaborate and influence across teams and stakeholders without direct authority

Schedule
Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week.
