About the role

The Release Train Engineer (RTE) serves as a servant leader, coach, and connector across an Agile Release Train (ART). This role partners with Product and Technology leaders to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions while ensuring alignment from strategy through execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate the Agile Release Train (ART) to ensure alignment from roadmap through delivery
  • Coach senior leaders and stakeholders on Lean-Agile practices to improve decision-making and team alignment
  • Optimize ART flow by reducing cross-team dependencies, improving predictability, and accelerating value delivery
  • Serve as the “chief Scrum Master,” mentoring Scrum Masters and elevating team-level practices
  • Build and develop a high-performing team of teams across the ART
  • Partner with Agile coaches, Scrum Masters, and peer RTEs to advance Agile maturity across the organization
  • Facilitate key program events (e.g., PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, Inspect & Adapt)
  • Provide visibility through metrics and reporting to support data-driven decisions
  • Identify, escalate, and help resolve risks, dependencies, and impediments
  • Influence and align stakeholders across teams without direct authority

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Agile delivery, technology, or product development environments
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional delivery (e.g., RTE, Scrum Master, or similar role)
  • Strong working knowledge of Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, Scrum, Kanban) and their practical application
  • Experience coaching teams and leaders to improve delivery, alignment, and decision-making
  • Experience using metrics and data to guide delivery improvements and drive outcomes
  • Experience facilitating program-level events and managing risks, dependencies, and impediments
  • Strong ability to collaborate and influence across teams and stakeholders without direct authority

Schedule

Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week.
