Relationship Manager Team Lead-Commercial Real Estate
About the Role
The Relationship Manager Team Lead-Commercial Real Estate manages commercial loan relationships of all levels of complexity. Independently generates and assists the team with new business and relationships that produce revenue from companies, sponsors, developers, and businesses. Facilitates collaboration with product specialists, portfolio managers (credit, underwriting, transaction approvals/processing), and operational support specialists. Provides oversight and guidance in the origination, negotiation, structuring, pricing, underwriting, and closing of loans. Manages the team’s monitoring of portfolio quality and ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains relationships to generate direct deal flow.
- Coordinates the team approach to approving and closing new deals to grow assets and revenues while optimizing profitability (ROE).
- Orients, mentors, trains, and assists Relationship Managers.
- Leads troubleshooting of escalated issues and monitors the most complex/high-risk deals.
- Monitors workload and quality of the team’s production.
- Promotes a team approach, drives group revenues, and optimizes profitability (ROE).
- Engages with sponsors and borrowers on idea generation and relevant opportunities to expand relationships.
- Partners with management to create action plans that ensure the achievement of goals.
- Tracks production, revenue, and forecasting results for management based on existing pipelines.
- Ensures proactive monitoring of the credit quality of the portfolio through timely financial statement gathering, compliance monitoring, financial analysis, and corrective actions.
- Manages the bank’s risk exposure to acceptable levels.
- Stays abreast of industry trends and market conditions that could impact the assigned portfolio.
- Uses independent judgment and discretion to make decisions and resolve problems.
- May perform talent management functions including employment, performance evaluations, staff development/training, disciplinary actions, succession planning, and compliance oversight.
- Performs special projects and additional duties as required.
- Adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and completes required compliance trainings.
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree (4 years or equivalent) in business, finance, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in commercial lending.
- 5+ years of experience in Commercial Real Estate Lending Relationship Management and/or commercial lending sales.
Skills
- Expert knowledge of commercial lending credit, underwriting, and loan structuring.
- Expert analytical skills for financial and cash flow analyses.
- Highly developed negotiation skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage competing demands and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
- Ability to mentor and lead a team.
- Strong relationship-building skills with stakeholders, both internal and external.

Some travel may be required.

Pay
Pay Range: $134,873.25 - $242,400.00
