Relationship Manager
About the role
This role is remote and open to anywhere in the US. As a Relationship Manager, you will serve as the strategic architect of Fiserv’s partnership with a dedicated portfolio of high-value clients. You aren't just a point of contact; you are a consultative partner and a trusted advisor to executive and senior-level leadership.
Responsibilities
- Primary Relationship Lead: Serve as the central point of contact for clients and internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Management) to streamline communication and operational resources.
- Strategic Account Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive account plans focused on profitable deal constructs and innovative partnerships to drive incremental revenue.
- Pipeline & Revenue Growth: Identify and build a robust pipeline of opportunities aimed at increasing partnership profitability and overall contribution margins.
- Retention & Contract Mastery: Lead high-stakes contract renegotiations and renewals to secure long-term partnerships and deliver profitable outcomes.
- Strategic Relationship Building: Cultivate multi-level client relationships and leverage internal Fiserv networks to influence and implement growth initiatives.
- Sales Execution: Meet or exceed assigned sales quotas through proactive renewals and the cross-selling of products in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
- Client Satisfaction & Advocacy: Drive "Likely to Recommend" scores and maintain retention through proactive issue resolution and deep strategic alignment.
- Operational Excellence: Manage daily maintenance for the client portfolio under limited direction, ensuring all corporate goals for profit and customer satisfaction are met.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or a combination of work, education, and military experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience within Relationship Management.
- Experience managing, growing relationships, and implementing cross-functional strategy to drive revenue growth with large clients.
- Experience working in the payments and/or fintech industry.
What Would Be Great To Have
- Knowledge of Fiserv systems is helpful, including Salesforce or a similar eCRM tool.
- Experience and understanding of payment facilitation.
- Ability to influence others at multiple levels internally and externally (who do not have a direct reporting line to this VP) and work collaboratively across teams to lead others who do not formally report to this person to drive results.
- Experience in sales and negotiating techniques - consultative selling skills with a consistent track record to negotiate, close deals, and generate results on time.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a focus on analyzing metrics to determine client strategy/approach.
- Highly customer-focused and results-driven, with the ability to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously with timely follow-up, both autonomously and as part of a team.
- Highly proficient in working with Microsoft tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Fundamental knowledge of computer systems, including host-based systems, especially financial data processing systems, is highly desirable.
Pay
Salary Range $82,700.00 - $175,900.00 These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ. It is unlawful to discriminate against a prospective employee due to the individual's status as a veteran. For commission eligible employees, the successful candidate is eligible to earn commissions pursuant to the terms of the applicable Fiserv Sales Compensation Plan.
