Relationship Manager
About the role
AgWest Farm Credit is a member-owned financial cooperative serving farmers, ranchers, agribusinesses, and other rural customers in seven Western U.S. states. This position is part of the Credit Resolution Team, reporting to the SVP, Lending.
Responsibilities
- Manage assigned loan portfolio, focusing on adversely classified production agriculture accounts, ensuring timely servicing and resolution of delinquencies or defaults.
- Analyze and service larger loan relationships, preparing high-quality credit packages and making sound credit decisions.
- Perform comprehensive financial analysis, resulting in sound credit recommendations that manage organizational risk and guide high-risk credit relationships.
- Maintain effective relationship management, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting financial information, and meeting with and negotiating terms with assigned accounts.
- Accurately classify loans and loan data attributes, including recommended charge-offs/reserves, cash income accounting, and allowances on assigned loans.
- Collaborate with the Lending and Insurance Group to participate in large OAEM servicing/shadowing, ensuring sound risk management and guidance for high-risk credit relationships.
- Establish valuations of real estate, personal property, and other collateral, using loan pricing programs, models, and tools.
- Participate in loan closings by ensuring appropriate documentation is completed and understood by the customer.
- Gather financial information and assist in credit investigations, public record searches, employment/income verifications, and customer visits.
- Handle customer information with confidentiality, following appropriate information security protocols, and referring media inquiries to appropriate staff.
- Represent and communicate AgWest's values, purpose, and mission to employees, customers, the public, and other target audiences.
- Perform all duties and maintain standards in accordance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least two years’ progressively complex professional experience, preferably in banking or credit, including restructuring, knowledge of borrower rights, and acquired property management.
- Solid understanding of bankruptcy and foreclosure processes and laws.
- Ability to understand and interpret increasingly complex financial statements, loan documents, and collateral documents, and draw appropriate conclusions.
- Ability to effectively communicate and negotiate terms on behalf of the organization, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to implement effective control and monitoring procedures.
- Knowledge of real estate market and real estate law.

Travel Requirements
Willingness and ability to travel up to 15%, including overnight travel throughout the AgWest territory.
Workplace Flexibility
This position is eligible for workplace flexibility and a one-time home office stipend after an initial in-office training period.
Compensation
The base salary range for this position in Paso Robles, California is: Level I: Typical starting range: $72,600 - $97,800 Full base salary range: $72,600 - $110,400 Annual performance-based incentive target is 12% of base. Level II: Typical starting range: $80,000 - $110,100 Full base salary range: $80,000 - $137,800 Annual performance-based incentive target is 15% of base. The base salary range for this position in Rocklin, California is: Level I: Typical starting range: $75,700 - $101,600 Full base salary range: $75,700 - $114,600 Annual performance-based incentive target is 12% of base. Level II: Typical starting range: $83,100 - $114,600 Full base salary range: $83,100 - $144,100 Annual performance-based incentive target is 15% of base.
