Relationship Manager, AS Relationship Management- Greater San Franscico Bay
About the role
Schwab Advisor Services, the industry leader of custodial, operational, trading, product, and technology solutions for independent fee-based investment advisors (RIAs), is seeking an innovative, results-driven Relationship Manager in the Greater San Francisco Bay region. You will serve top-tier advisors, actively pursuing opportunities to improve their efficiency and profitability while focusing on growth and retention. This role involves coordinating with service teams to proactively anticipate client needs, resolving situations, and collaborating with business partners to support the education and adoption of Wealth Management Services.
As the main point of contact for assigned clients, you will develop and maintain meaningful relationships, represent Schwab’s brand and values, influence positive change, present policy updates, negotiate pricing, conduct business reviews, and organize client events. The role offers fully remote work with 50% or greater travel within the territory. Candidate must reside within the Greater San Francisco Bay area.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex client relationships with top-tier advisors, driving growth and retention.
- Proactively anticipate and resolve client needs in coordination with service teams.
- Support the education and adoption of Wealth Management Services across the organization.
- Influence positive change in client organizations to meet evolving needs.
- Present policy changes, negotiate pricing, and conduct business reviews.
- Organize and facilitate client events.
- Serve as the primary point of contact, maintaining strong client relationships and representing Schwab’s brand.
Requirements
- Active FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 licenses.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 5–7 years of financial services experience demonstrating results-driven relationship management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exceptional ability to build and sustain complex client relationships through a consultative approach.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, including leading structured conversations and business reviews with senior audiences.
- Ability to navigate difficult discussions, resolve conflicts, and adapt to client needs in real time.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to understand advisor needs and deliver positive business outcomes.
- Experience applying knowledge of the RIA/Wealth Management landscape (operations, advisor technology, practice management, compliance, fee models) to client recommendations.
- Track record of driving growth, retention, and adoption through consultative selling and long-term relationship building.
- Proven ability to build strong partnerships across teams, manage escalations, and drive timely resolution while maintaining a consistent client experience.

Pay
Salary Range: $106,500.00–$146,500.00. This role is also eligible for bonus opportunities.
