About the role
Relationship Bankers identify customer needs and match them with appropriate bank products and services to enhance customer satisfaction, loyalty, and financial well-being. Through proactive sales and service efforts, Relationship Bankers deepen customer relationships while processing a variety of cash and non-cash transactions.
Responsibilities
- Identify customer needs and make appropriate referrals through proactive sales and service efforts.
- Service, sell, and cross-sell deposit accounts, loan products, insurance products, cash management services, and more.
- Deliver exceptional customer experience following Trustmark’s service standards.
- Safeguard the bank’s assets and ensure security while processing transactions accurately (deposits, withdrawals, collection items, wire transfers, credit card transactions, loan payments, and account maintenance).
- Balance cash drawer daily, ensuring accurate totals and proper documentation.
- Achieve quarterly sales and referral goals while transforming service opportunities into sales.
- Make outreach calls to customers and prospects.
- Comply with the bank’s guidelines, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of sales or customer service experience (a Bachelor’s degree may substitute for experience).
- Able to use basic math concepts and handle routine transactions, including cash drawer reconciliation.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to learn and communicate Trustmark products.
- Pass assessment tests related to customer service and math skills.
- Able to meet sales goals in a retail environment.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn internal technology systems.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Effective time management and detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Professional appearance and mannerisms for daily public interaction.
Preferred
- Experience maintaining and balancing a cash drawer.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods while using a computer keyboard and mouse.
- Ability to lift at least 20 pounds to process boxed or bagged coins.
