Job Summary And Qualifications To assist and provide optimum patient care through transportation of patients, limited patient care, office and departmental maintenance duties. The department will meet age specific needs of neonatal (0-4 wks.), infant (1 mo.-12mos.), child (1yr.-12 yrs.), adolescent (13 yrs.-18 yrs.), adult (18 yrs.-64 yrs.), and geriatric (greater than 64 yrs.) population. What you will do in this role: Assists in screening incoming calls, routing message, scheduling in-patients and out-patients, preparing daily stats, preparing new out-patient charts, updating attendance sheets monthly, entering daily charges and corrections, and batching. Assists therapist as needed (i.e. transportation of patients, picking up equipment, etc.) while ensuring confidentiality of all pertinent patient care information to assure patient’s rights are protected. Ensures sufficient linen stock and disposes of soiled linen appropriately. Prepares software for CPM when needed. Cleans and stores the CPM after use. Cleans hydrocollators and cold pack machines. Able to order supplies and equipment for the department. If not trained, the tech will notify the appropriate personnel when PAR Level supplies are low. Demonstrates accurate operating techniques and reasonable understanding of precautions when using a hoyer lift and CPM. Actively engages in learning and continuing education for self-improvement and professional growth. Attends and participates in staff meetings/inservices. Works as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team with other hospital departments and physicians in order to provide quality care to patients. Demonstrates compliance with department and hospital Policies & Procedures while displaying cooperative and constructive attitude in intradepartmental and interdepartmental relationships. Carries through with those aspects of treatment assigned and under the direct supervision of PT, PTA, OT, COTA. Copy and distributes daily schedule on Rehab Unit. Places completed certification forms in the chart.
