Regulatory Specialist

Responsibilities

• Verify and approve new raw material suppliers.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation for suppliers, ensuring compliance with regulatory, food safety, and quality system requirements.
• Conduct shelf-life testing and product analysis to meet customer requirements.
• Aid in developing finished product specifications and labeling information, including nutrition facts panels, label statements, product claims, and claim substantiation.
• Manage customer and consumer complaints, maintaining data, generating reports, and coordinating with insurance carriers as needed.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance department to ensure Corrective Action Preventive Actions (CAPAs) are provided to customers when required.
• Manage Kosher certifications for products, acting as a liaison with Rabbis and certification organizations.
• Aid in responding to customer inquiries related to food safety and quality documentation.
• Participate in internal quality system, GMP, and food safety audits in cooperation with Quality Assurance.
• Support other departments as needed and perform related duties as assigned.
• Attend all company-required training sessions.

Requirements

• Proficiency in regulatory affairs, FDA regulations, and compliance.
• Strong understanding of food quality and GMP standards.
• Experience in food safety and quality assurance.
• Familiarity with HACCP/FSMA and nutritional labeling requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field, or a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45,760.00 - $52,000.00/yr. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is also offered, paid out incrementally.

The company offers a stable work environment with regular hours and opportunities for overtime. It is a growing business with potential for career advancement, supported by a new pasteurization facility.
