About the role
The Regulatory Compliance Unit Manager (SUP I) oversees the unit responsible for training, inspecting, and regulating firearms dealers, exempted federal firearm licensees, manufacturers, and ammunition vendors licensed to operate in California. The unit also provides training to various stakeholders and law enforcement agencies regarding firearms and ammunition-related responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the regulatory compliance unit, ensuring all operations align with state and federal regulations.
- Train firearms dealers, exempted federal firearm licensees, manufacturers, and ammunition vendors on regulatory requirements.
- Provide training to law enforcement agencies on firearms and ammunition-related responsibilities.
- Inspect and regulate firearms dealers, exempted federal firearm licensees, manufacturers, and ammunition vendors to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
- Develop and implement training programs for various stakeholders.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies to address firearms and ammunition-related issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as criminal justice, public administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in regulatory compliance or law enforcement.
- Experience in firearms regulation and law enforcement.
- Ability to manage a team and provide leadership.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of California firearms regulations and federal firearms laws.
Qualifications
- Valid California driver's license.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay
$7,172.00 - $8,910.00 per month, depending on experience.
Schedule
Day shift, Monday through Friday.
