Registration Rep-Menomonie

About the role

The Registration Rep-Menomonie position is located in Menomonie, Wisconsin and is full-time with a remote work option. Mayo Clinic is a leading healthcare provider known for its excellence in patient care, research, and education.

Responsibilities

• Accurate check-in/admissions/registration of incoming patients in the hospital or ED setting.
• Verification of patient demographic information, collection of insurance data, and account creation.
• Obtaining patient signatures and providing required forms or letters.
• Assisting patients with self-registration and collecting indicated co-payments and/or share of cost.
• Ensuring patient safety through positive patient identification protocols and obtaining appropriate consents.
• Assisting patients with hospital presumptive eligibility or Medicaid applications.
• In-person registration may require physical walking throughout the emergency department and/or hospital.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Effective reading and communication skills.
• Basic computer/keyboarding skills and intermediate mathematical competency.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of proper phone etiquette and phone handling skills.
• Prior desk, appointment, or secretarial experience and a working knowledge of scheduling systems and procedures are preferred.
• Ability to interact professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience in using an Epic RC/EMR system is preferred.
• Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Certification is preferred.

Schedule

This role is full-time with a primary focus on daytime hours, supporting a 24/7 department that includes a rotating weekend and holiday schedule. Weekend shifts are eligible for shift differential.
