Registrar Labor & Delivery, Full-time, Day
Position Summary
To support the Outpatient Care Center, Centralized Department and patient by providing a variety of services such as registration, cash collection, cash reconciliation, notice of admission to payers upon admission, financial counseling, admitting, patient/department support, information processing, database management, materials/inventory management, education/development and unit-specific tasks.
About the Role
The position requires effective communication and writing skills, interpersonal skills, working knowledge of hospital business office billing procedures, and knowledge of state regulatory requirements regarding charity care. It also demands effective critical thinking skills, attention to details, and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Support patient registration and cash collection processes
- Handle cash reconciliation and notices of admission to payers
- Provide financial counseling and patient support
- Manage patient information and database operations
- Oversee materials and inventory management
- Offer educational and developmental support
- Perform unit-specific tasks as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of formal business/medical training preferred
- Completion of BA training program required
- Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification preferred
- At least 3 to 6 months experience as a Business Assistant, Business Associate, Unit Secretary or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of Windows environment
- Previous customer service experience required
- Medical office experience preferred
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of formal business/medical training preferred. Completion of BA training program required. Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification preferred.
