The job of Registrar-Jr High involves registering students and maintaining computerized student records and files, providing student information to authorized parties in compliance with established policies, and offering general clerical support and direction as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Assists in developing master class schedule to ensure student course and class size requirements are accurate.
- Attends department, in-service meetings, workshops, and seminars to convey and gather information required for job functions.
- Evaluates transcripts of incoming students to transfer grades and semester credit hours into the student information system.
- Informs appropriate personnel of possible student course deficiencies to assist in addressing student course requirements.
- Maintains a variety of manual and electronic documents, files, and records (e.g., grades, transcripts, student information) to provide up-to-date information and historical reference in accordance with established administrative guidelines and legal requirements.
- Manages registrar processes (e.g., scheduling issues with parents, conferences with counselors, hard copy schedules for students, recording absentee incidents) to ensure optimal recording and management of student files.
- Performs enrollment and withdrawal activities (e.g., collaborating with counselors, instructors, and parents) to comply with established requirements.
- Prepares standardized documents and reports (e.g., report cards, class schedules, form letters, memos, calendars, bulletins, periodic reports) to communicate information to other parties and agencies.
- Processes various documents and materials (e.g., transcripts, job verification) to provide required information in response to requests from students, other districts, colleges/universities, and employment agencies.
- Researches discrepancies in student records to verify graduation status and ensure the accuracy of information.
- Responds to questions from internal and external sources (e.g., staff, other educational institutions, the public, parents, and students) to provide information and direction.
- Verifies student-related data (e.g., grades, information) to ensure the accuracy of student records.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Requirements
- Age 16 or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Job-related experience is required.
Pay
Hourly rate: $22.03 - $24.75 depending on experience.
