About the role
Obtains financial data for maintaining accounting records. Compiles and sorts documents such as invoices and checks to substantiate business transactions. Verifies and posts details of business transactions, including funds received and disbursed, and totals accounts. Computes and records charges, refunds, cost of lost or damaged goods, freight charges, rentals, and similar items. Prints vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records as directed. Inputs accounts payable. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Obtain financial data for use in maintaining accounting records.
- Compile and sort documents (e.g., invoices, checks) substantiating business transactions.
- Verify and post details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and totals accounts.
- Compute and record charges, refunds, cost of lost or damaged goods, freight charges, rentals, and similar items.
- Print vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records as directed.
- Input accounts payable.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of experience in a related role.
- Accounts payable experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Ten Key.
- Strong comprehension, speaking, and writing skills in English.
- Ability to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.
- Job requirements change every 1-2 years, requiring re-training to stay current.
