Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) – ER/ICU (Swings)

About the role

Evolution Veterinary Specialists (EVS) is hiring an experienced and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our Emergency & Critical Care (ER/ICU) team on swing shift. Responsibilities

• Triage and assist in stabilizing emergency patients
• Provide nursing care for hospitalized ER and ICU patients
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records
• Monitor and manage critically ill patients, including ongoing treatments and assessments
• Place and maintain IV catheters, urinary catheters, feeding tubes, and other supportive devices as indicated
• Absorb and administer medications and treatments accurately and efficiently
• Communicate clearly with doctors and team members to support high-quality patient care
• Support a collaborative, respectful, and team-oriented work environment

• Operate medical and office equipment
• Work around biological hazards and cleaning agents
• Communicate effectively in a busy and sometimes noisy hospital environment

Requirements

• Current Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license
• Active registration with DORA
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient care skills
• 1+ year of experience as an RVT, ideally in ER, ICU, or specialty medicine
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (AS/BS/BA)
• BLS and/or ALS CPR certification

Schedule

Swing shift, full-time available. Typical schedules may include: 4 x 10-hour shifts, or 3 x 12-hour shifts. Weekend and holiday shifts may apply.

Pay

$22.50–$33.00/hour. Overnight differential applies for the hours between 10p and 6a. Compensation is based on experience, technical skill level, and hospital leveling criteria.
