Accountable for performing, coordinating, and scoring physiologic studies of sleep and sleep-related disorders. Provides care to patients via technology, therapeutic interventions, and coordination of care with other health care professionals.

Shift Details: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Variable Day Shifts, 4- ten hour shifts or 5- eight hour shifts

Department: Sleep Lab, Park City Hospital

RSPGT or the Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential REQUIRED

Responsibilities

  • Perform overnight Polysomnographic studies, using various modes of Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) therapy interventions.
  • Perform Home Sleep Apnea Tests (HSAT).
  • Monitor and document on patients undergoing physiologic studies.
  • Monitor and track equipment and supplies.
  • Complete record keeping and charting.
  • Score studies according to AASM guidelines.
  • Obtain 10 Continuing Education Credits (CEC) related to sleep medicine annually.
  • Provide supervision, mentorship, and orientation/ongoing education of the PSG Tech and PST CPSGT.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or GED
  • BLS Certification or RQI for Healthcare Providers
  • Current RPSGT/RST or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) licensed in the state of practice, if required
  • Available to work varying shifts, including night shift
  • Specific certifications or skills as required by facility or patient population (i.e. PALS, ACLS, NRP)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Anatomy courses
  • If working in Idaho, PSGT Permit issued by the Idaho State Board of Medicine
  • Clinical or patient care experience
  • Proven ability to supervise others
  • Available to work the night shift with demonstrated ability to do so
  • Demonstrated ability to address and solve both technical and interpersonal problems
  • Demonstrated communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use computerized and mechanical equipment

Physical Requirements

  • Ongoing need to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs.
  • Frequent interactions requiring verbal communication, hearing, and understanding spoken information quickly and accurately.
  • Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision, including frequent computer use.
  • May have the same physical requirements as clinical or patient care jobs when taking clinical shifts.
  • For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

Pay

Hourly range: $29.43 - $45.39 (actual rate dependent upon experience)
