Engineering Technician

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor onsite activities for projects across multiple disciplines and companies
  • Act as an inspector on job sites following contract and project guidelines
  • Perform standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations
  • Initiate action as needed to ensure projects follow contract and compliance obligations
  • Conduct standardized tests for multiple projects and report out on results to project teams
  • Gather and maintain data including testing results and drawings
  • Schedule and attend job meetings
  • Assemble and distribute meeting minutes
  • Provide support to the Project Team to help ensure those project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality

Requirements

  • An Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in engineering is preferred
  • 0-4 years of experience, preferably in engineering, project or construction management; transportation and construction industries preferred
  • IDOT Doc Control certification is preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite is required
  • Experience with Microstation or AutoCAD and project management software (eBuilder/Procore) preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, administrative, and organizational skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities, work and communicate effectively in a team environment, and meet deadlines

Qualifications

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Primarily onsite and hands-on with work locations varying based on project assignments. Some project design support may be required to support projects across our Engineering team.
