Engineering Technician

Responsibilities

• Aid engineers with design tasks for municipal infrastructure projects, focusing on transportation-related work.
• Create plans using AutoCad Civil 3D and MicroStation software, perform quantity calculations, and prepare cost estimates.
• Write technical specifications and assist in the analysis of reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs.
• Support civil engineering projects such as needs and feasibility studies, asset management, stormwater management, and report preparation.
• Collaborate with in-house engineers and technicians to produce high-quality designs and drawings meeting relevant company and industry standards.
• Solve problems and address issues that may arise during construction projects.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Five or more years of relevant municipal transportation experience.
• Preferred knowledge of transportation-related funding programs, such as CCMG and NOFA.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ArcGIS.
• INDOT construction certifications are a plus.
• Valid driver’s license.
