About the role

Registered Respiratory Therapist for the respiratory therapy department on the night shift at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered. The role delivers critical and non-critical patient care services to all age groups using selected invasive and noninvasive techniques related to the cardiopulmonary system, provides respiratory care predominantly in critical care areas, and serves as the shift lead—making assignments, handling staffing issues, and responding to personnel matters.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a two-to-four-year AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program
• RRT credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care within one year of graduation or date of hire
• Current State of Ohio License
• Current BLS (with ACLS, PALS, or NALS for respective work area)
• Minimum of 1 year of equivalent experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of cardiopulmonary disease states and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Demonstrated leadership ability in department and clinical settings

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Minimum Required: Associate's Degree
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree

Pay

Expected starting salary range for this position is between $27.33/hr. and $33.78/hr. The actual pay rate will depend on factors such as years of experience, unique skills and abilities, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, and other position requirements.

• Performs invasive and non-invasive therapeutic/diagnostic modalities according to department policy and procedure
• Correctly records all information in the patient legal record and maintains department records
• Hand-off of care performed using SBAR Model
• Educates patients on disease state, wellness, home care modalities, and safety
• Functions as a preceptor, providing meaningful learning experiences for orientees/students
• Applies technical knowledge to consult with physicians regarding cardiopulmonary status
• Acts as a resource and supports leadership initiatives
