Registered Respiratory Therapist, PRN

About the Role

Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care, according to physician's orders. Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy. Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care. Performs duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in respiratory therapy as per physician’s orders.
• Consult with physicians on the effectiveness of respiratory therapy.
• Serve as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing staff on respiratory care.

Requirements

• Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Graduate of a CoArc-approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license meeting state licensure requirements.
• Preferred: Critical care experience.
• For co-workers in the Emergency Room: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
• Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

Skills

• Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to pinch up to 10 lbs.
• Minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Proficiency in using all appropriate respiratory care devices.
