Responsibilities

The Respiratory Therapist provides direct patient care utilizing respiratory techniques, policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure quality and appropriate care for patients of all ages, and effectively communicates with all team members. The role requires understanding and knowledge of respiratory medications, their effects, and side effects.

Requirements

• No prior experience required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma, GED, certificate, training, or equivalent experience.
• Licenses & Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Additional Qualifications: Active Registered Respiratory Therapist license in the State of Florida; current BLS/CPR card; ACLS and PALS as required by department standards.

Pay

Estimated hourly pay range: $33.09 – $43.02, based on experience.

Sign‑on bonus eligibility (for new‑grad Respiratory Therapists):

• Full‑time RRT/CRT positions: $15,000 bonus.
• Part‑time RRT/CRT positions: $7,500 bonus.
• To qualify, candidate must have less than 1 year of RRT/CRT work experience.
• Employment must begin between November 30, 2025 and September 30, 2026.
• Candidate must complete Baptist Health’s pre‑employment process, obtain a verifiable Florida RRT/CRT license, be hired, and remain employed in good standing during the payout period.
• Bonus is paid in four installments over a 2‑year commitment/agreement period.
• Former Baptist Health South Florida employees who left within the previous 12 months, and former contract workers whose assignment ended within the previous 6 months, are not eligible.
