About the role

Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital, located near Myrtle Beach, SC, treats adolescents, adults, and senior adults in need of psychiatric services, as well as adults with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, or rehabilitation needs. The hospital offers 24-hour admissions, needs assessment, and referral services.

Lighthouse is seeking dynamic Nurse Supervisors (RN) for the night shift (7:00 pm – 7:30 am). As Nurse Supervisor, you report directly to the Director of Nursing and Nurse Manager, ensuring quality care for psychiatric patients, residents, family members, and all customer groups. You exercise independent judgment in supervising staff and overseeing clinical areas during after-hours, working closely with the treatment team and keeping physicians, Administrator-On-Call (AOC), and DON informed of issues that arise.

Responsibilities

  • Control FTEs and arrange staffing for nursing units in accordance with staffing grids, census, and patient acuity.
  • Supervise all nursing service staff and handle patient complaints using discretion.
  • Work closely with admissions regarding patients admitted after hours and those being discharged.
  • Oversee all codes and ensure proper documentation.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of nursing supervisor experience at minimum.
  • Management/leadership experience preferred.
  • Current license in good standing in the State of South Carolina as a Registered Nurse.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
  • CPI Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of ANA nursing standards and Federal and State guidelines and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Accuracy in work performance and strong emphasis on documentation.
  • Excellent supervisory and organization skills.
  • Planning, organization, implementation, and assessment skills.
  • Ability to motivate, evaluate, and train employees.
