Registered Nurse Stroke Specialist

Role Overview

This position involves providing critical care as a registered nurse in a neuro-focused department, responding swiftly to stroke alerts, coordinating diagnostics and treatments, and supporting bedside staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to Code Stroke alerts
• Perform assessments
• Facilitate labs and medications
• Mentor staff
• Educate patients and families
• Ensure seamless discharge planning

Qualifications

• Valid RN license from the Kansas Board of Nursing
• BLS certification within 30 days
• ACLS certification within 6 months

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years ICU experience, preferably in neuro/stroke care or emergency settings
• Strong teamwork, bedside teaching, and patient advocacy skills are desired
