About the role

The Direct Patient Care Registered Nurse- DPC RN is responsible for providing patient-family centered care in a culturally competent manner utilizing and promoting evidence based practice standards of quality, safety and service.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and develop care plans
• Provide technical nursing skills and interventions
• Communicate effectively with patients and families
• Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Interact with patients and colleagues in a professional manner
• Evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary
• Show flexibility and adaptability in changing situations
• Maintain organizational skills and prioritize tasks

• Lead and mentor other nurses as needed

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification
• Basic Life Support certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification
• Associate’s degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
• Completion of preceptor class within twelve months of being deemed competent by department leadership for independent practice
