Registered Nurse - SAFE
Position Overview
United Health Services is seeking a Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAFE) Registered Nurse to provide compassionate, trauma-informed care to survivors of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and human trafficking. In this highly specialized role, the SAFE RN delivers comprehensive medical-forensic services, conducts forensic examinations, collects and preserves evidence, administers prophylactic medications, and supports patients through every step of their care journey with dignity, empathy, and professionalism.

Compensation
Compensation Range: $40.70 - $61.05 per hour, depending on experience
Sign-On Incentives: Up to $25,000 sign-on bonus for candidates who meet eligibility requirements.
Schedule
24 hours per week
Day - rotational shift
Required Qualifications And Skills
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN)
- Licensure: Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Emergency Nursing, Critical Care, Women’s Health, or Pediatrics preferred
- Certifications: Current BLS required; ACLS, PALS, SANE-A, AFN-C, LNCC preferred
NYS Specific Training Requirements
- SAFE Certification: Must have successfully completed the NYS Department of Health-approved 40-hour SAFE training curriculum (or be willing to complete it within 3 months of hire)
- Clinical Preceptorship: Completion of required clinical preceptorship hours and pelvic examination competencies as mandated by NYS DOH for official SAFE designation
