Safety Coordinator

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
2. Develop and implement safety training programs, oversee safety programs, and promote a strong organizational safety culture.
3. Implement and maintain contractor safety management programs and assist in the valuation and selection of contractors.
4. Manage operation and maintenance of plant and mine generated sampling and data for industrial hygiene.
5. Maintain safety records and establish safety-related KPIs.
6. Respond to and investigate safety incidents, develop emergency response plans, and conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
7. Manage the safety department's budget and allocate resources for training, equipment, and safety improvement projects.

Requirements

• Education: Minimum of an Associate degree in a safety related field or three years of work experience in a health and safety role.
• Certifications & Licenses: MSHA Training / Qualified Trainer, OSHA.
• Experience: Minimum three years of MSHA or OSHA-related oversight in a manufacturing environment.
• Skills: Leadership skills, innovative, self-managing, self-starter, positive interpersonal relationship skills, flexibility, strong written and verbal communication skills.
