Registered Nurse (RN), Wound Care
Full-time position with a schedule of 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, including rotating weekends and holidays. Up to $30,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.
About the role
The Wound Care Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients with acute and chronic wounds in an outpatient clinic setting. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates wound treatment plans while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to promote healing, prevent complications, and improve patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive wound assessments and document findings accurately
- Administer wound care treatments, dressing changes, and therapeutic interventions according to established protocols
- Educate patients and families on wound management, prevention strategies, and follow-up care
- Monitor patient progress and communicate changes in condition to providers
- Assist with debridement procedures and other wound-related treatments as appropriate
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
- Coordinate care with physicians, case managers, home health agencies, and other healthcare professionals
- Promote a safe, patient-centered environment and support quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Current New Mexico or Compact State RN license
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school (Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
- ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care certifications preferred
