Responsibilities

• Coordinates and supervises patient care in the inpatient settings, as it correlates to wound care.
• Provides care to the patient, reflecting flexibility in rules and regulations, as indicated by individual patient needs, as it correlates to wound care.
• Makes decisions reflecting knowledge of facts, diseases/surgical conditions, required care, and good judgment.
• Formulates an individualized plan of care, as indicated, and evaluates for effectiveness, as it correlates to wound care.
• Formulates a teaching plan based on identified staff and patient learning needs, and evaluates effectiveness of learning; family included in teaching, as appropriate, from admission to discharge.
• Identifies wound changes and takes appropriate action in a timely manner.
• Demonstrates knowledge of skin care, pressure ulcer prevention, and treatment.
• Demonstrates an ability to select the most appropriate support surface for the patient.

Qualifications

• Education: Florida Nursing License
• License/Certifications: BLS, ACLS, both approved by AHA
• Recommended: Certification in Wound Care and Ostomy Care preferred
