Avera Pediatric Specialists – Sioux Falls, SD – Regular, Day Shift

About the role

Oversee clinical nursing staff and respiratory therapists as part of a compassionate, multidisciplinary team. Coordinate nursing department activities, patient flow, and communication among nursing staff, physicians, and other clinic departments to ensure positive outcomes for employees and patients. Work closely with the Clinic Manager to provide overall management of the clinic site.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Clinic Manager to oversee clinical operations and patient-flow coordination.
  • Assist in developing current and future clinic goals.
  • Manage resources to meet budgetary clinical goals and objectives.
  • Maintain nursing staff schedules and appropriate staffing levels to maximize efficiency.
  • Review staffing with direct caregivers to enhance coverage, efficiency, and quality care.
  • Develop, implement, and update department-specific policies, procedures, and competencies related to patient care.
  • Communicate frequently with staff and report feedback in a timely manner.
  • Maintain high clinical competency and set high service standards for unit personnel.
  • Provide direct patient care as needed.
  • Foster a positive environment among clinics, hospital departments, physicians, and others.
  • Handle crisis situations and unanticipated events professionally.
  • Interview, hire, develop, train, and retain employees; plan, assign, and lead work; appraise performance; reward and coach employees; address complaints and resolve problems.

Requirements

  • Ability to work the specified hours.
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with an active license in the state of practice (required upon hire).
