Full time day/night rotating shift available with a $5.00 shift differential for the Staffing Resource Team (rotation includes working holidays and weekends).
About the role
The Staffing Resource Team (SRT) is comprised of full-time staff who float through the Dartmouth Hitchcock inpatient units at DHMC based on current staffing needs. They provide critical support to departments with staffing shortages.
- Utilizes the nursing process to assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care.
- Uses critical thinking and the nursing process to anticipate and recognize changes in patient status, taking action to modify the plan of care or elevate concerns to the care team as necessary.
- Practices in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics to advocate for patients, uphold their autonomy in decision-making, ensure informed consent, and assist patients and families in expressing self-determination.
- Actively seeks feedback and acts to improve performance while engaging in the governance of practice.
- Manages interpersonal relationships for self and others, mentoring colleagues to advance nursing practice and the profession.
- Assumes authority and accountability for the nursing care of patients while appropriately delegating elements of care to other members of the care delivery team in accordance with laws, regulations, and policies.
- Prioritizes and organizes time to optimize patient outcomes.
- Actively seeks the most current evidence and standards, applying and translating them to daily practice.
- Role models a culture of inquiry, developing new knowledge by contributing to research, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice at the local level.
- Communicates effectively in a variety of formats across all areas of practice and actively partners with others to effect change through the exchange of knowledge.
- Precepts student nurses, nurse externs, nurse residents, experienced clinical nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) with 1 year of experience or Associate Degree (ADN) with 2 years of experience.
- Licensed Registered Nurse with New Hampshire eligibility.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required upon hire; higher-level certifications as applicable per unit requirements (see AHA and Life Support Policy grid).
- ACLS Certificate required upon hire for roles in Endoscopy, Tele-ICU, Day Surgery Center at CGP (Manchester), Life Safety, and Cardiology-Echocardiography.
