About the role
The Surgical ICU is a 21-bed unit caring for a broad spectrum of high acuity patients, including abdominal transplant, general abdominal surgery, ENT surgery, and vascular surgery. Nurses partner closely with a highly collaborative group of physicians and nurse practitioners, honing a wide range of skills such as complex dressing changes and extracorporeal therapies like CRRT and MAR.
Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication to lead efforts in creating the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
