Registered Nurse (RN) Same Day Surgery Unit Per Diem Day

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards.
• Affirms awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
• Maintains a realization of own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others of the patient care team.
• Reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
• Knowledge of the patient population served.
• Supervises and directs the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers.
• Consistently sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
• Individual practitioner and the interdisciplinary team manager, utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of the provision of care and individualizes the plan of care to address a specific patient’s needs.

Qualifications

• BSN required or actively enrolled in a BSN program with an expected completion date.
• Ambulatory/ Same Day Surgery experience with pre-op and post-op/phase II.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Certifications and Licenses Required:
• Active NJ RN license or compact RN license with NJ endorsement.
• BLS from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS preferred.

Scheduling Requirements

• Day Shift.
• Per Diem.
• Monday - Friday flexible 8hrs shift anytime between 8:00am -5:00pm.
• Must be able to work every other weekend.
• Scheduled as needed with a minimum requirement of 3 shifts a month.
• Will need to work 1 winter and 1 summer holiday.

Pay

The pay range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey is $47.85 - $67.04 per hour.
