Registered Nurse (RN) Psych IP-Adult DDMI Per Diem Day
About the role
The psychiatric inpatient 22 bed Dual Diagnosis Mental Illness (DDMI) unit specializes in treatment of patients with autism and intellectual disabilities and varying medical complexities. Trinitas is proud to be the only hospital in New Jersey with a separate unit to serve this population. The psychiatric inpatient 27 bed closed unit is an involuntary unit. Patients are committed to being inpatient for treatment and can have varying medical complexities. The psychiatric inpatient 21 bed open unit is a voluntary unit. Patients are able to sign themselves in for treatment and can have varying medical complexities. Our staff are cross trained to work all the units within our inpatient behavioral health department.
Responsibilities
- Organize and administer individualized age-specific professional care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital in support of medical care
- Support the philosophy, objectives and the mission and vision of Saint Barnabas Medical Center and the Department of Nursing
- Practice in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, Department of Health Regulations, TJC requirements and other regulatory agencies
- Participate in patient teaching and discharge planning
- Participate in unit Performance Improvement evaluation activities
Qualifications
- Active New Jersey RN License or approved RN license required
- ASN or BSN required
- AHA BLS prior to start date required
- AHA ACLS within 6 months of hire
- Minimum one (1) year experience in Behavioral Health Nursing required
- Previous experience in Med Surg, Telemetry, and/or ER Nursing a plus
- Psychiatric-Mental Health certifications and/or national nursing certifications preferred
Schedule

- Day
- Monday – Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation as needed by dept
Pay
$48.29 – $65.06 per hour (anticipated hourly wage range for New Jersey; compensation depends on education, skills, and professional experience)
