Registered Nurse (RN) - PRN Nights | Dayton Specialty

About the Role

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process while delivering, directing, and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. The RN plans, coordinates, and provides patient care, including interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post‑hospitalization, and accessing community resources. Additional duties may be assigned, including acting as Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required).

Responsibilities

• Deliver, direct, and supervise patient care on the nursing unit.
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care plans and discharge planning.
• Provide patient and family education for post‑hospitalization needs.
• Access and connect patients with community resources.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse responsibilities when required.

Requirements

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of employment, or compact licensure if the state participates.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA approved).
• Evidence of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of employment; ACLS must be AHA approved.
• Current ACLS certification required for Charge Nurse assignments.
• One year of inpatient medical‑surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.
