About the role
This nursing position provides direct and indirect care to employees at client company sites, working independently under established policies and medical directives. It is a non-management role reporting to a supervisor or manager, supporting clinic functions and employee health initiatives. The position requires strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills, with a focus on providing compassionate care.
Responsibilities
- Perform triage, administer basic first aid, and coordinate evaluations for injured or exposed employees.
- Conduct health assessments, document findings, review screening results, and facilitate follow-up for work-related and non-work-related conditions.
- Participate in substance abuse testing by collecting specimens, monitoring results, and reporting outcomes.
- Perform occupational health tests such as audiograms, vision screenings, and pulmonary function testing.
- Respond to employee health concerns, maintain inventory and educational materials, and ensure compliance with regulatory records (DHEC, OSHA, TJC, NRC).
- Support wellness programs, contribute to policy development, and assist in various clinical duties, including workers' compensation testing.
- Provide backup nursing support across locations and perform other assigned duties.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Nursing with at least 3 years of nursing experience or 2 years in Occupational Medicine nursing (urgent/emergency care background preferred).
- Current RN license recognized in the practice state and CPR/BLS certification.
- Occupational Health Nursing certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of workers' compensation and case management processes is advantageous.
