Summary: Surgical Care Center of Michigan is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Operating Room (OR). This is a full-time position with flexible hours between 6:30am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Absorbs, prioritizes, plans, and implements patient care in an effective manner.
  • Responds to emergent situations.
  • Maintains a positive, friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other staff.
  • Works independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Manages time effectively and efficiently.
  • Assists in the control and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
  • Ensures a clean, safe environment through continuous alertness to safety and aseptic techniques.
  • Supports the development of a healthy work environment.
  • Performs scrub duties as necessary.
  • Positions patients, prepares operative areas, and adjusts tables to proper positions.
  • Opens sterile packs and supplies using aseptic technique.
  • Assists surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other personnel as needed.
  • Cares for specimens and cultures as directed.
  • Accompanies patients to PACU and provides reports to post-op nurses.
  • Controls and maintains equipment and ensures its proper care and handling.
  • Documents use of equipment and methods directed.
  • Checks rooms, materials, and equipment for proper care and handling.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • One year of previous nursing experience in at least one of the following settings preferred: Operating Room, surgical, ambulatory surgical center (ASC), Pre/Post-Op, PACU, ICU, Medical Surgical or Telemetry floors.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) License required in the state where the worksite is located.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.

  • Strong visual and auditory acuity including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Strong physical abilities including frequent walking (75%), sitting (50%), and standing (50%), with regular bending, stooping, and reaching (25–50%).
  • Able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs.

Pay

Competitive base pay based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Full Time - Shifts between 6:30am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday.
