Registered Nurse (RN), Postpartum and Pediatric Unit

About the role

The Postpartum and Pediatrics Unit at North Alabama Medical Center provides high-quality, patient-centered care for postpartum mothers, newborns, and pediatric patients. This 21-bed unit supports postpartum recovery while also caring for pediatric patients requiring medical attention. The Registered Nurse collaborates with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

Responsibilities

• Utilize specialized plan-of-care intervention
• Serve as a patient-care innovator
• Shape exceptional patient journeys every day
• Leverage skills and cutting-edge technology to impact patient wellbeing
• Coordinate total nursing care for patients
• Participate in patient and family teaching
• Act as a patient/family advocate
• Work with other nursing and ancillary personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice
• Perform other duties of the department as required

Requirements

• Current state RN license
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certification
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• Two to three years' nursing experience required

Qualifications

• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Proficiency in computer systems and software
