About the role
You will work in our Inpatient Rehabilitation Program (IRP), a CARF-accredited, stroke-certified rehabilitation unit that functions as a specialized admission service within the hospital. This environment offers registered nurses the opportunity to care for medically complex patients while developing strong rehabilitation-focused nursing skills.
Responsibilities
- Care for medically complex patients
- Develop strong rehabilitation-focused nursing skills
- Care for patients recovering from strokes and brain injuries
- Care for patients with other neurological conditions like spinal cord injuries, Parkinson's disease, and multiple sclerosis
- Care for patients following kidney and liver transplants, heart transplants, and those receiving oncology, dialysis, or hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) services
- Provide comprehensive patient care through the nursing process
- Coordinate and deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
- Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication
- Create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification
- A commitment to teamwork, communication, and continual professional growth
