About the role

The Ambulatory Divisional Registered Nurse supports clinical care across multiple outpatient locations, collaborating with Ambulatory Leadership, Division Chair, Medical Director, and care teams to develop and manage processes for safe, timely ambulatory care.

Responsibilities

  • Follows physician/licensed provider orders within the Nurse Practice Act, licensure, and established standards, policies, and practice guidelines.
  • Triage patient calls and in-basket messages in accordance with ambulatory and division-specific standards.
  • Facilitates training to improve the specialty knowledge base across all ambulatory clinic locations.
  • Partners with care teams to complete chart preparation for return visits, reviews records, ensures outside records are available, and prepares charts for patient visits.
  • Provides disease and procedure-specific education to patients in clinic and creates educational materials.
  • Assists providers during clinical procedures across the division.
  • Collaborates with providers, Assistant Clinical Managers, Program Coordinators, and Nurse Navigators to ensure continuity of care across clinic sites for specific patient populations.
  • Performs multi-site nursing visits as directed by providers, including education, treatments, or assessments.
  • Serves as a liaison for prior authorization requirements and assists in obtaining clinic testing and treatment.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through ongoing education and training.

Requirements

  • Licensure: Current Registered Nurse license, BLS Certification.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of nursing experience, 1-2 years preferred in the designated pediatric or adult division.
