Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
- Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
Requirements
- Associate’s of Nursing [Required]
- Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
- Basic Life Support – CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- Basic computer skills and commitment to hourly patient rounding [Required]
- Proficient clinical critical care skills and critical thinking skills with strong communication skills [Required]
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s of Nursing [Preferred]
- 1+ years acute care experience [Preferred]
- Previous EKG Interpretation Class [Preferred]
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Preferred]
- Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) [Preferred]
Skills
- Must possess frequent independent judgment and the ability to handle clinical situations requiring sound professional judgment and critical-thinking skills, including clinical assessment, data analysis, and patient response.
- Responsible for providing quality patient care and continuously prioritizing multiple duties.
- Ability to function calmly and professionally during stressful situations.
- Utilization of assessment, reassessment, and critical-thinking skills in dealing with changes in patient outcomes.
- General knowledge of professional nursing principles and techniques, as well as the pharmacological process in the appropriate administration or delivery of medications.
- Skill to maintain effective working relationships with health professionals and others to foster an environment conducive to carrying out the mission of the facility.
- Skill to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, to direct the overall professional nursing services in a manner that encourages the open exchange of ideas and information.
