The Ambulatory and Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, patient-centered care through evidence-based practice, clinical expertise, and compassionate care delivery in an ambulatory care setting. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, advocates for patient needs, and upholds professional practice standards to promote optimal health outcomes.

About the Location

Our oncology specialists at Aurora Cancer Care - Wauwatosa in Wauwatosa, WI, offer compassionate and expert care for all stages of cancer. The clinic is located at 1055 N. Mayfair Rd., Wauwatosa, WI, and provides comprehensive cancer care, including:

  • A nurse navigator to guide patients through every step of cancer care
  • Second-opinion consultations in the metro Milwaukee area or eastern Wisconsin
  • Access to clinical trials representing new cancer treatments and better management of cancer care
  • Specialty oncologists, including radiation and surgical oncologists, specializing in minimally invasive cancer treatment tools and techniques

Responsibilities

As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will:

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
  • Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and skilled communication to lead efforts in creating the safest patient environment and the best patient experience
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to advocate for patient needs and uphold professional practice standards

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience is preferred

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • May be exposed to cytotoxic and hazardous waste, blood and body fluids, and communicable diseases; protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary
  • Must sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday
  • Must be able to:
    • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
    • Lift up to 20 lbs over the head
    • Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
    • Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
    • Perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with a second person present
  • Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with the ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job
