Registered Nurse (RN) - Orthopedic/Surgical Unit
Core Responsibilities And Duties
You’ll provide high-quality, family-centered nursing care that supports optimal patient outcomes. You’ll conduct thorough assessments, create individualized and evidence-based care plans, implement interventions, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team. You’ll practice autonomously, using sound judgment and incorporating evidence-based improvements into daily work while supervising and delegating appropriately.
Ongoing professional development is encouraged, with opportunities to participate in quality improvement, pursue learning, and contribute to a collaborative, patient-focused environment.
RequiredQualifications
- Documentation of completion of professional nursing program (RN program)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license through the MN Board of Nursing
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (exception: Telehealth RNs)
- Must be interested in working with people with short term or long-term disabilities that begin in childhood
- Physically able to work hours required and meet physical demands of the position. In certain departments, this will include being part of the off-premises call schedule.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or other healthcare related field
- Prior nursing experience in a health-related setting
- Nursing Specialty Certification relevant to the position

This position exists to administer family-centered nursing care to patients, advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention, and/or provide skilled assistance in navigation of the health care system as appropriate to the developmental, cultural, emotional, and medical, surgical, or rehabilitative needs of the patient and their families.
The hourly wage for this opportunity is $41.22-$70.45. Pay is dependent on several factors including number of hours worked within the field, education, and certification/licensure: $1.75 weekends/ $2.35 evenings/ $4.00 nights differential is available for this position.

Schedule
This position requires 12 hour shifts every third weekend (Saturday & Sunday).
