About the role
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care-teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing.
Responsibilities
- Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
- Assess patients’ physical, psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, developmental, and diagnostic needs.
- Diagnose and plan interventions to address identified patient needs.
- Implement care plans, including medication administration, patient education, and coordination of care.
- Evaluate patient responses to care and make necessary adjustments.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Provide emotional and psychosocial support to patients and families.
- Document all patient care activities accurately and timely.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and education.
Requirements
- Registered nursing license (Required)
- BLS certification (Required within 90 days of hire)
- 1 year of acute care nursing experience (preferred)
- No experience required
- Previous healthcare experience in GI, Endo, Surgical, stepdown, or pre/post (preferred)
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
- Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
