Job Duties

  • Demonstrate ability to provide patient/family/caregiver teaching that is age-appropriate and adapted for individual learning needs.
  • Prepare exam rooms, assist patients to exam rooms, prepare patients for assessments, document clinical intake, monitor, provide interventions, and document care outcomes.
  • Perform CLIA-waived lab testing, including venipuncture and capillary blood draws, and document all actions taken.
  • Aid in performing in-office diagnostic tests such as EKGs, vision and hearing screenings, and assist during exams and procedures.
  • Aid healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, including performing as a medical scribe.
  • Aid in obtaining vaccine information from the IRIS program and administer vaccines according to protocol.
  • Aid in performing medication prior authorizations and injections under direct supervision.
  • Handle inventory control and ordering of medical supplies, monitor inventory, and recommend improvements.
  • Report any variances, near misses, or patient complaints using the organization’s online incident reporting software.
  • Process and label incoming medical records, refill requests, consult notes, lab results, and other correspondence in the EHR clinical in-box.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment by monitoring the front office area and waiting room for safety, security, privacy, and patient concerns.
  • Communicate necessary non-urgent information to team leads and/or director as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with at least an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
  • Hold a current license as a Registered Nurse in Idaho or a compact state license with an active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

  • Regular exposure to bloodborne and other infectious diseases.
  • Contact with patients in varied conditions.
  • Exposure to patient elements like accidents, injuries, and illnesses.
  • Faces varying and unpredictable situations, including potentially violent or angry patients and families.
  • Works in emergency and crisis situations.
  • Occasionally works irregular hours or shifts.
  • Frequently manages multiple demands and tasks simultaneously.
