About the Role
A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for direct and/or indirect patient care under the direction of an RN or provider (physician, NP, PA, or other APP). This position performs treatments and procedures in Erlanger Medical Group’s outpatient departments, adhering to scope of practice and industry standards. The LPN contributes to a team-based care model, coordinating patient care, supporting self-management and behavior change, and participating in quality improvement and performance evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Administer pharmacological drugs as ordered and perform procedures/operate equipment for patient care.
- Prepare patients, perform procedures, provide wound care, and deliver post-procedure care.
- Assess and interpret patient data to meet age-specific needs across the lifespan.
- Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles to tailor care appropriately.
- Coordinate care for patients, support self-management and behavior change, and manage patient population.
- Participate in the practice’s quality improvement process and performance evaluation.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current licensure to practice practical nursing in Tennessee.
- BLS certification completed prior to starting and maintained thereafter.
- Knowledge of general nursing principles, organizational policies, and current trends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an outpatient or office practice setting.
- Certification in the specialty area of application.
