Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Care Center

About the role

The Long Term Care RN position at Sioux Center Health involves directing and supervising resident care, promoting residents' well-being, and adhering to nursing standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate resident care.
• Report and explain resident care information to Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
• Supervise meal times, ensure proper nutrition and hydration, and assist residents as necessary.
• Makes rounds to assess unstable residents and administer medications, treatments, and therapies as ordered.
• Document all medications, IV fluids, and treatments administered.
• Supervise restraint applications and removals, and order medications as necessary.
• Notify the pharmacy of any changes/additions to resident's drug regimen and receive medication deliveries.
• Assist in interviewing, hiring, training, and managing employees.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum of one year of experience in Long Term Care preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Iowa.
• CPR certification within 3 months of hire date.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Iowa Nursing Practice Code and Sioux Center Health standards of care.
• Understanding of legal implications of accountability in nursing practice.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring the knowledge and skill level of a registered nurse.
• Proficiency in reading and writing reports, communicating with staff, and documenting resident care.

Pay

$X per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Night shift, every third weekend only.
