About the role
The Long Term Care RN position at Sioux Center Health involves directing and supervising resident care, promoting residents' well-being, and adhering to nursing standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate resident care.
- Report and explain resident care information to Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
- Supervise meal times, ensure proper nutrition and hydration, and assist residents as necessary.
- Makes rounds to assess unstable residents and administer medications, treatments, and therapies as ordered.
- Document all medications, IV fluids, and treatments administered.
- Supervise restraint applications and removals, and order medications as necessary.
- Notify the pharmacy of any changes/additions to resident's drug regimen and receive medication deliveries.
- Assist in interviewing, hiring, training, and managing employees.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Minimum of one year of experience in Long Term Care preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Iowa.
- CPR certification within 3 months of hire date.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the Iowa Nursing Practice Code and Sioux Center Health standards of care.
- Understanding of legal implications of accountability in nursing practice.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring the knowledge and skill level of a registered nurse.
- Proficiency in reading and writing reports, communicating with staff, and documenting resident care.

Pay
$X per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Night shift, every third weekend only.
