Registered Nurse (RN) - Nurse Resident, Neuroscience Med-Surg

Role Overview

Responsible for completing all required coursework, participating in professional development, and fulfilling clinical competencies within a Nurse Residency Program. Works under supervision to refine nursing skills, manage clinical situations, and ensure adherence to organizational policies, including licensure, infection control, and patient confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Collects patient data, performs assessments, and identifies patient needs using critical thinking under RN supervision.
• Develops and revises care plans collaboratively with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Delivers care aligned with practice standards, explains procedures, provides discharge teaching, and recognizes emergency situations for advanced intervention.
• Records patient care accurately, observes for issues, and implements nursing measures under supervision.
• Delegates tasks appropriately, participates in quality improvement, manages staffing needs, and maintains safe working conditions.
• Completes clinical skills, documents observations, and performs assigned duties as directed.

Qualifications & Skills

• Associate degree in Nursing; Bachelor’s preferred.
• No prior experience required; candidates must hold or be eligible for RN licensure in South Carolina.
• Valid RN license and BLS certification.
• Knowledge of patient care, ethical standards, and safety practices.
