Registered Nurse ( RN ) - Mother/Baby/Special Care Nursery

Full-time, 12-hour night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 72 hours per week, every other weekend and rotating holidays in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based, individualized patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience.
• Maintain familiarity with hospital and department policies and procedures, accepted methods of requisitioning ancillary department services, and familiarity with the medical staff (typically acquired through 1–3 months of orientation).
• For Special Care Nursery RNs: complete NRP within 3 months of orientation and STABLE within 6 months of nursery orientation; orientation includes portions of NOEP (AWHONN’s Neonatal Orientation Education Program) and shadowing assigned NNP’s.
• Maintain nursery competencies and annual education requirements.
• Articulate and demonstrate commitment to the philosophy, values, mission, and vision of the organization.

Requirements

• Graduate from a state-accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• For Staff RN positions within specialty areas: prior employment experience in the appropriate clinical setting is preferred.
• OB/Nursery/Pediatric experience preferred.
• Must maintain current nursing knowledge, BLS certification, and required CEUs for relicensure.
