Registered Nurse (RN) - Nursery/Mother-Baby

About the role

Sentara Leigh Hospital, located in Norfolk, Virginia, is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Nursery/Mom & Baby population on the night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). A generous sign-on bonus is available to qualified candidates who are successfully hired.

This position requires a minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to newborns and postpartum mothers in a hospital setting.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support maternal and infant health outcomes.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and care plans during night shifts.
• Educate families on newborn care, breastfeeding support, and postpartum recovery.
• Participate in unit-based initiatives and quality improvement efforts.

Requirements

• Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of Virginia.
• Minimum of one (1) year of clinical nursing experience.
• Experience in maternal-child health, nursery, or women’s health preferred.
• Ability to work night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), including weekends and holidays as scheduled.
• Willingness to participate in a 3–4 hour on-site shadowing session during the interview process.
