Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients.
• Assume responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process.
• Direct care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and Infection Control, with the goal of discharging the patient with an optimum level of care provided.
• Coordinate and plan patient care within the prescribed medical regime.
• Administer all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.
• Perform and fulfill all HICS (Hospital Incident Command System) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and/or disaster.
• Know the Hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adhere to the Hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.
• Assume responsibility for supervision of staff to which appropriate care is delegated.
• Support the CNO to ensure high quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.

Requirements

• Graduated from a state-approved school of nursing or an accredited school (Required).
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing (Preferred).
• Current license, certification, or registration to practice as a Registered Nurse as required by law, regulation in the state of practice, or policy.
• CPR certification (AHA BLS).
• If applicable by corporate policy for the unit of hire: AHA ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP.
• Recent acute care experience (Preferred).
