Registered Nurse (RN) - MedSurg Float

Role Overview

Provides patient-centered nursing care by performing assessments, diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation based on evidence-based practices. Ensures individualized care through effective partnerships, cultural competence, and adherence to clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate safe, quality care and documentation within a collaborative team environment.
• Utilize interdisciplinary communication methods to promote respectful, inclusive care.
• Support performance improvement initiatives, research, and shared governance activities.
• Serve as a preceptor or mentor to foster a qualified, professional nursing workforce.
• Promote evidence-based practice, participate in clinical research, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and safety standards.
• Plan proactively for patient care across the continuum, developing protocols to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current RN license (single or multi-state), BLS certification, and instructor/provisional BLS as required.
• Knowledge of nursing theory, regulations, assessment, treatment techniques, and documentation.
• Strong communication, judgment, and emergency response skills.
• Ability to maintain effective relationships and handle large volumes of patient data accurately.
• Basic understanding of cardiac conditions and treatments.
